Session 12, 29/7/25
- Relimi, Cleric 3
- Valeucou, Fighter 4
- Nissa, M-U 4
The quest for enough money to let Relimi level up continues. The party spends some downtime, then heads Southeast out of Tor to go and find some ogres that have been raiding shipping. I'm scrambling to keep up, because I haven't prepped anything (even a map!) more than a couple of hexes East of Tor. The party runs across a tiny little (improvised) logging town, Felling, after a few days of travel, who talk about the ogres and say they've been killing groups of loggers from the West.
The party are led out to the site, then follow the ogres' tracks (they don't have a ranger but ogre tracks aren't subtle) back to a tower they've seen before. Valeucou (who's name I was corrected on this week haha; the x shouldn't be there) steps up to the tower and sees the same ogre again. The ogre proclaims that it ate pork yesterday; Valeucou talks for a bit, proposes that they move their business to Thysrus, and is told to go inside and talk to the boss.
The "boss" is an ogre mage - a dangerous one. There's a brief discussion, Valeucou gives him some expensive wine, and the ogre mage agrees to go to Thysrus on condition that he gets more of it. The party sets out for Thysrus; they run across some ghouls in the swamp and kill them, then a patrol of Holdmen which they bluff their way past, then finally arrive at the observatory-monastery-vineyard which they set out for. They purchase the wine and head back to meet up with the ogres again. On their way, they're halted by a patrol, which demands tribute - the party sets for battle, Webs the citizen infantry, and routs the subcitizens in melee. Collecting up the loot of the battle, both in gold and equipment, they decide to stop off at Kelling along the way to sell the loot. That's where we ended the session.
We've had a mote of confusion regarding rooms, recently; the RPG club at my university (which I've been booking rooms through) has been having trouble getting rooms for their members' games. I think this is getting resolved soon, and an acceptable interim solution was (finally!) found for this session. Overall, I think my prep is starting to show the cracks; what I really need is to spend one weekend plotting just a couple of hexes around the existing map's borders.
